About Us

In 2015, a group of passionate advocates, each touched by brain cancer through our own experiences or the experiences of our loved ones, came together to form Adding Candles. Our goal was to establish a local presence in Western New York dedicated to funding brain cancer research at the Wilmot Cancer Institute at the University of Rochester. We aim to unite our community in the fight against brain cancer and to improve treatment options for patients here in Rochester.

Since its founding, Adding Candles has raised over $550,000 through various community events to support the Wilmot Cancer Institute at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Our mission is clear: to aggressively pursue effective treatments for brain cancer and, ultimately, to find a cure for this devastating disease.
